Giving Thanks for Simple Gifts

I worked on Thursday. Sam and Ben came home last night and today is my Thanksgiving. I have the turkey in the oven and the house is soon to be filled with the smells of my culinary efforts. I love turkey and all the fixing. Maybe it’s an age thing, but I am becoming more and more thankful for the simple things in my life. So here goes…….. When I hear him charging down the stairs, jumping several at a time, I smile. There is something endearingly simple and sweet about Benjamin. On Monday, the school called. I was shocked when I was told to come pick him up because he had been suspended for five days……………..for hitting a girl. The safety officer met me at the door with Ben slinking behind him, head down, and shuffling in his flip flop, encl...
