Summer Reads

I know it's barely summer, but this is what I've read so far.

BEAUTIFUL LIES by Lisa Unger

CAUGHT by Harlen Coben

THE HOUR I FIRST BELIEVED by Wally Lamb

A WALK IN THE WOODS by Bill Bryson

THE NOBODIES ALBUM by Carolyn Parkhurst

HUSH by Kate White

9th JUDGEMENT by James Patterson

I loved the Wally Lamb book. He also wrote I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE , which is one of my favorite books. Carolyn Parkhurst also wrote THE DOGS OF BABEL, a book I read a long time ago, also good, but I like THE NOBODIES ALBUM better. Any Harlen Coben book is worth reading. I especially like his Myron Boliter series. A WALK IN THE WOODS is so funny. A must read for anyone who likes to hike. His relationship with his hiking partner just is priceless. It is a non fiction book and I rarely enjoy non fiction, but this one is worth reading.

My wish list for the summer includes:
3 CUPS OF TEA by Greg Mortenson
SIZZLING SIXTEEN by Janet Evanovich
THE SHACK by Wm. Paul Young

Two years ago I made a New Year's resolution to stop buying books and go to the library. It was the best resolution I ever made and probably the only one I've ever kept. I love going to the library and I go once a week. The world is open to me and there for the taking when I walk through the door. The smell and feel of the books brings me a sense of anticipation, a hope for something great. When you buy a book, it's forever, and I used to feel so disappointed when I didn't like the book. It would take forever to pick one out. Now I leave the library with 3-4 books every week and if I don't like it, I just return it. Life is too short to waste time with a lousy book.
