Compare and Contrast

Benjamin recently was assigned a compare and contrast essay and it gave me an idea for a blog. I know you should never compare your children, but forget that, this could be fun. I think of my boys as being so different, though many would disagree. Sam was born on a nice, beautiful, sunny, early spring day. He screamed the second he was out of me. Ben was born during a thunder storm and was very quiet. Sam was an easy going baby who loved to nap. Ben was a wild thing who never napped. Sam walked at 15 months, Ben at 11. Sam took forever to start to talk, Ben was never quiet. Sam loved sleeping in his crib and finally got out of it when he was 4, Ben hated his crib and was climbing out before his was two. We put him in a bed early so he wouldn't kill himself. Ben didn't sleep by himself until he was 7 or 8, and then he had about 5 night lights. Sam would play with his train set all day, every day. Ben wouldn't play with anything for more than 20 minutes at a time. We call...

TULIPS

The tulips are here, in all their glory. Their faces open to the sun. Look at me they cry! I am here, I have bloomed. They shout, "look at my glorious colors, my graceful, elegant stance, and my rich, velvet petals". Here I am world, share in my joy, and bask in my glow. I am beautiful, a gift for your soul.

Watching Tiger

I love watching Golf on Sunday afternoon. For those of you out there who would rather watch paint dry then watch golf, let me share my secret. Get all your chores done earlier in the day. Then settle in with a good book, the newspaper or magazine. Hit the recliner with remotes handy and turn on golf. In between reading, naps, or even folding laundry you will get drawn in. Even if you nap for two hours, as long as you are awake for the last hour, you are good. It's called multi tasking Anne style. The Masters, the US Open and the British Open are some of my favorites. Now I'm not usually political in my blogs but I will touch upon it some today. Some of you might question why a liberal,feminist would watch the Masters. It's an old white boy organization run by The Augusta National Golf Association. No women, no Jews, no blacks, no Latinos, no ethnicity.
